Vijay can be India's next Test no 3

Murali Vijay is India's next no 3 after Dravid. He's got temparament, apetite and attitude to be a long term player. He cannot be permanent opener since Viru and Gambhir are permanent openers and seeking greatness.

So if he has  to be in the team, he can be a very good player at 3 and that would be better than the likes of Raina, Sharma who've got flair but no attitude and got no affinity for their India cap.

Go Vijay go. Long India  term future awaits for you dude. He has shown plenty of flair and resolute mindedness in the 3 innings he has played against SL and Aus.

Cheers.

Virender Sehwag is the most destructive batsman of this era

Move aside Haydos, Gilchrist, Jaisurya, Richards and DON, the most destructive batsman of the modern era is Virender Sehwag. No other batsman has dominated the game like he does when he bats in the same mode.

He might or might not make 300 or 400, but he has setup the game for India.

And he makes the likes of Sangakara and Jayaloseradhane look like rats and cats when the lions like Sehwag walks. Lol.

Sehwag rocks.

Virender Sehwag

has got a KMA attitude. And that attitude works well for India and for him more often than not. By the by KMA is kiss my ass.

284 runs in a single day and putting his team in a superb position on day 2 of Brabourne test speaks of the quality he has got and that despite  the bad back which troublem him through out the day.

When Sehwag plays big, the world watches and such is the stature that grows when he bats big is the likes of Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman step in to sidewalks and assume the role of mere spectators. They feel proud to have been partnering him when he is in the murderous mood.

All words and adjectives fall apart when Sehwag bats like this. Its just magical and surreal.  Awesome and fuckingly delightful.

From this position only a mad collapse would see India lose or even draw.  There are giants to follow down the batting order and right now Mr Sangakara, rich on words, poor in strategy and thinking has nobody at his disposal to stop the Indians from running away with the match, series and the #1 ranking.

Greatesque show Veeru.

Go Murali

for all of your self respect and reputation you have built over last decade, let it not go down the drains. Its now over 550 runs for 5 wickets on the tour.  It doesnt get as ugly and humiliating as this.  788 wickets (or few more) would be very difficult to overhaul and  the world shall remember you as a proud and only Tamil who played for Lanka in times when the fellow Tamils were massacared and humiliated by Sinhlese and you were the reverred and only Tamil who won respect from the majority of Lankans.

You've built a legacy and its time to see the action from sidelines, may be settle down in your in-laws land, our own Chennai and own up an academy in Chepauk.

119 runs fr no wkt look scary and they are even scarier than what Amit Mishra made us look in Ahmedabad.

Pass on the baton and settle in the new life post cricket. Reputation should be intact and let yours be not ripped apart due to the inept Premdasa style wikats in India.

Thanks for the great entertainment you provided us with your batting and though critics (incl me) would always question your action and  the cheap wickets (aplenty), nobody can take away the fact from you that you are the highest wikat taker in the world and would remain so for years to come and it were you who got the Lankan cricket on the world map, moving aside DeSilva, fatman and Jaya.

Brabourne Test : Day 1

Shame that the likes of Dilshan and Angelo Mathews have kept the Indians on the bay.

Angelo Mathews making 86. WTF.

Anil Kumble is being heavily missed. Right here, right now.  Harbhajan took 4 but spent 107 runs for them.  Amit Mishra's career seems to have been over for now, with he being dumped from the t20 and ODi team.

Glad to see Sanga and Mahela's reputation of being flat track minnow bashers intact. And yes Samarweera too.

Need to wipe Lankans out by 390. Not over 400 by any chance.

And then another 600 to avoid chasing sizeable 4th innings score.

Pakistanis would land in India again for IPL

Pakistan gets the nod for IPL-3. Great stuff. Question is who would be bid ?

Shahid Afridi, Umar Akamal and Aamer could be hot property. Younis Khan and Yousuf may find no bidders for them. Who would want to have tantrum throwers amidst them ?

Asif -- the drug peddler wont be risked.

Not sure how this would mean to restore ties between India and Pakistan in cricket terms.

Brabourne Test : Nostalgia and Sri Lanka's ambitions

Brabourne gets a test after 36 years and I hope it gets more in the future.

Its a romantic favorite for the old timer and a legacy of Indian cricket.  It ranks amongst Eden, Chepauk in terms of legacy and nostalgia.

Wankhede and Brabourne are almost near to each other in South Bombay.

India would eye a win and they go on top. SL eye their first win in India. It would be like the old Surf ad "Daag dhundte rah jaoge".

So Sangakara and company would keep looking for their first victory in India.

Gambhir goes out and Vijay comes in. No Dabri.

Last time Gambhir went out and Vijay played, India won. It was 4th Test then, last of the series. Today's one is same.

So omens point to India's win.

And Sangakara points out chink in Indian opening slot. Lol.  I mean he says Indian top order isnt same as before. He is smoking marijuana and puking shit.

Right now 'a very shant shree shant' is speaking to dumb damsel on Neo.

M vijay

Is a great prospect and he is just unlucky that he is opener in era of sehwag n gauti. Man from rajni"s land is named on favorite screen name of amitji. Perfect combo of 2 of india"s biggest cinematic icons. May be vijay would walkin front of his room mirror with goggle on n splashing cig in rajni s style and speak " nervous to Bahut honge tum vijay Jo dabri Anna bhi contention me hai ". And then he would walk to god statue n say "ajun talAk Kuch nahi manga apan tumse par aaj mangta jee. Ek spot dila do n ittho century padwa do. Dabri Anna forever ranji khelte rahenge".

Dabri could play his first test

Its a bit of pity that Srikanth's injected men are mere replacements and not first choice players in the XI. Neither is Vijay, Dabri or Dinshaw ice cream.

There have been some news or blog posts being written that Vijay might not be playing and Dabri could sneak in the middle order and an extra bowler could play in.

Is the fascination over Dabri for real or just a vague of imagination :P.

Way ahead for Sreesanth

Sreesanth has made a remarkable comeback in the team and its high time he realizes that he needs to take the wickets to be in the limelight and in the page 3 parties and the reality shows.

He had it in him to excel. England 07 and SA 06 showed us that promise, but the theateric persona in him overtook the bowler in him and the bowler got slapped and other things followed. New bowlers came in and went, Santh was overlooked.

Now that he is in the team he should focus on the wickets and bowling. Wickets give the bowlers high and huge. All staring, sledging, send offs are great only when you take wickets and take 3 or 4 or 5 wicket hauls.

Lets hope he turns around the tide this time and fulfills the promise he showed in 2006.
