When mind goes numb and analysis goes for toss
Ass on fire : Miandad and Ijaz Butt
Bangalore Comes of Age
Right now Bangalore are hanging at # 4. Some more upsets today would see them go at the top of the table. That won’t be a surprise though, now that Rahul is back too, the team should fancy itself for a semi-final spot. Today’s game is a bit of fancy ride for Chennai. If they win this, they go at the top of the table with 9 points and Bangalore drop to 5. If Deccans win then they maintain their top spot and nothing changes in the standings. The top 4 spots are too crowded and too tight to be in the comfort zone for anybody to sit and relax. Mumbai Indians are suffering for their lack of decisive punch. Harbhajan is out of form and Zaheer is hot and cold. They can’t just win on basis of 3 players – Tendulkar, Duminy and Malinga. At least 4 or 5 players need to fire and one of them big time. Who else than their best batsman. Time is running out for Mumbai Indians. Also need for them to throw out the likes of Takwale, Raje and Kulkarni who at best are liabilities and don’t inspire winning confidence in the team. They have 2 more days to recuperate and go back to the drawing board to reformulate their strategies. And for that Tendulkar will need to drop his anchor role and assume the prima donna role of savage harvester of runs as he is in the international circuit.
Indian squad for World T20
Yesterday’s innings came a bit too late. Jadeja, Ojha, Praveen Pehelwan, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma are the new faces that are in the team from the 2007 team which won the title. The ones to miss out the bus from that team are Agarkar (no longer in national radar), Joginder Sharma (same), Sreesanth (injured or disciplined don’t know. One can still find him break dancing in the KXIP dug out) and Uthappa.
The starting XI could well be:
Sehwag
Gambhir
Raina
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Sharma
Pathan Y
Harbhajan
Pathan I / Ishant
Zaheer Khan
RP Singh
RP Singh was the most deserved entrant after an impressive show in the first 6 games of IPL for Deccan. Based on the current form the semi-finalists would be India, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
Identity for Fake IPL player.
Fake IPL player would disclose his identity on last match day of KKR i.e. on 20th May 2009. The date can’t get funnier than this. He also suggests he would retire from all forms of the game after IPL. Who bothers except knowing his identity. I have arrived on one. It can be wrong only if the bloggie turns out to be from the support staff or the owner himself, to which I don’t lay any claim. One thing for sure, next IPL season (if) we won’t see KKR, even if we see then we won’t see Sourav a part of it. I think he had enough of Aussie mess with him and enough of muscle pulling from entities that know little of the game called cricket which the proud lad has been playing since 1987. For now the only interest in KKR team is how many matches they lose without a fight and whether Brendie McCullum would ever captain any other team in the future? And of course who is this Fake IPL player (I know who he is, but then I need confirmation J)

Sach is the power of 10
10 in 10 wins and runs from 10's bat. that is 10some delight. even after 2*10 years of watching this phenomenon the 10some and 10ful delight just doesnt stop!
go 10!! My life runs full throttle when 10 bats and comes to a standstill when 10 gets out. Sach is the power of 10. Ever since 2 * 10 years when this 10 blowed away the likes of 10th grade pass Abdy Qadir and Qar Younis (not Khan).....his magic is just increasing 10 fold every time......

Match 25 and 26 updates
Shane Warne the wily old fox needs to return to the Aussie fold for their most obsessed fight with the Poms :) Aussies need Haydos and Warney.
From Indian team perspective only RP Singh, P Ojha, Suresh Raina have come good (T20 team). Failure of skipper, Gautam Gambhir and Ishant Sharma would be a cause of concern!!!
BTW Yousuf Pathan is loving the Safari!!!
Yousuf Flip Flop
IPL at an interesting stage
Kolkata have been an embarrasment. Barring Ganguly they have nobody worth a mention. And with retreat of Gayle, they look even thinner.
Kumble's leadership seems to have put some fighting spirit in Bengaluru team. May be its too early to say, but here is man with pride and excellence to demonstrate the leadership with an example. Out of the captains leading this IPL only the golden oldies who have stamped their authorities over the years have been the performers. Look at Gilly, Tendulkar , Warne and Kumble. Except Yuvraj to an extent for Punjab, the others have been a flop show. More so for Dhoni, Sehwag, Pieterson and McCullum.
Few more upsets and the battle for top 4 would be intriguing. A royals win and a Chennai win would further complicate the combos. Thats what we want :)
