Way ahead

Pakistan will need to be positive and upbeat about their chances in the Test cricket ahead. They have to play 11 Tests in next one year and that’s a whopping number given their past stats over the year. And they are big series, England and Australia. They have got the composition of team right and the crux of the players are fixed for the tests except MoYo. For me he would never be a part of any setup in Pak cricket, but then who bothers about a blogger and over top of that an Indian.

The biggest trouble for Pakistan is the opening partnership right now. What I read in their blogs is that’s been their bogey ever since they began playing cricket. But then that’s not been true against India. Mudassar Nazar, Saeed Anwar and Salman Butt have had successes against us over the years in Tests.

Fawad Alam, if he could get 10 % of success what Viru had then he would be a good prospect for Pakistan in coming years. Have a fixed pair, have a long pair. Something now which India has or Australia or England or even South Africa has.

The ex-players would keep saying that there is factionalism in their team but then that’s their thing to do. If YK would insulate himself out of that $hit then he would be a happy man.

Losing optimism or faith or shunning Test cricket for IPL won’t be a key for Pakistan to go ahead. They are anyway not playing any cricket against their bitter rivals, so the fear of defeat and the pressure anyway won’t be there. They can go and play fearless brand of cricket and in collapsible cricket.

That’s the way to go for them.

PS : This is not to please anybody. My thoughts, so they are here. Appeasement is not one of my policies…..
