Aussies Struggling

Its most prolly good bye to Ozzies from the world cup T20.

One thing stumps me. Why do people hate to see Aussies win or love to see them lose ? Is it hatred or out of racism ? Is it out of hate for Punter's antics or over the top means to win ? Why does Homer criticisiesesese everything Aussie ? Only reason I know is the hatred s not based on facts. Rest may be you can help me discover.

The most common reason that I know of is that they don't like watching the same team win over and over again.

Cos it gets boring.

The 2003 and 2007 world cups were so one sided.

I don't think it has anything to do with racism, or hate, or bias.. its just that people love to cheer the underdog and love to see the favorites lose.

Thats all.

Q, thats one of the reason most likely to be. But Ponting has got a bit of rudeness in his ways of playing. Something which wasnt in the case with Tugga abd Tubby.

2003 wasnt that boring. It had some classics like the semi final between Aus and SL when SJ stunned Aus by opening with DeSilva in bowling and the classic between India and Pakistan.

thats other thing that Indians meekly surrendered in the finals.

unfortunately in India most of the folks who dislike Australia is for the "racism and bias".

Sam,

Since you solicit my opinion, here it is.

Post Sydney, Ponting, in a moment of petulance, made the claim on being questioned on a bump ball catch that his integrity was being questioned.

Since he laid down a marker on how his behavior should be judged, I try to comply.

Also, if you do read my blog ( and I dont see why you dont since you have me on the blog roll), I dont criticize everything Aussie - JRod and I were the only ones who lauded Peter Siddle's efforts in his maiden test at Mohali.

So my question to you is - the fact that you choose to overlook that - is it hatred or racism?

Cheers,

Appreciate your POV Homer. That praise for Siddle has been like an oyster in desert :). i mean very rare.

Anyways people whom i have confronted with this question tell me the same reason : Ponting's antics in Sydney 08.

But then thats one off incident. I have seen in country is the people ignore good cricket played by the Aussies and more often than not dismiss Aussies as racists and cheats, which is not always true.

Sam,

As rare as you having a kind word for the Sri lankans.. But then again, you are entitled to your point of view, just like the rest of us are..

Pity then that you insist on labeling people, instead of taking their points of view for what it is, a point of view.

Cheers,
