My Ipl team

My IPL XI.

Openers :

Adam Gilchrist and Mathew Hayden. One of them the super captain and second the damn sexy opener happily into retirement. I wonder would Australia not need him in the Ashes. I feel he should consider going to Aussie colors for the Ashes. Thump the Poms and return back to
happy world of retirement.

Middle Order:

MS, AB DeVilliers, Roy, Yuvraj Singh, Raina

MS as a batsman. He is still good as a batsman and despite not having tasted success in IPL this year, he remains a dangerous batsman in middle order in T20. AB and Roy are automatic picks. Roy for his bowling skills. Remember he turned around the final with 2 back to back wickets in 11th odd over (or 12th or 9th).

Bowling Order :

RP Singh, Anil Kumble, Irfan Pathan, Pragyan Ojha

Lethal combo. Openers

Final XI contains : 6 batsmen, 3 bowlers, 2 allrounders. 2 part timers.

Final XI

1) Hayden

2) Gilly

3) AB

4) Yuvraj Singh

5) Roy

6) Raina

7) MS

8) Pathan

9) Ojha

10) Kumble

11) RP Singh

Agreed on most counts except a couple:

1. MSD - He'd miss out the grade in my team. There's already a wicket keeper . I'd venture to say that even dinesh karthik had a comparatively better tournament.

2. Yuvraj singh: we tend to remember him for the 2 hattricks . Yep, he's quite a cleaner on his day, but it just wasn't his tournament. So if it is to be the dream team based on this edition - he misses out.

I'd pick 2 of the following 3:

ross taylor : absolutely destructive by the end of the tournament
Rohit sharma : great finishing in a few matches, good bowling and strong fielding
brad hodge : see above - consistency once he got in
yousaf pathan : see above.

Fark, welcome to my blog. Ross Taylor and Brad Hodge played well, no doubt. But they were inept in earlier part of the tourney.

Yuvraj Singh did show some brilliance in the mid way stage of the tournaments. and he averaged 33 to Rohit Sharma's 27.

Plus his bowling n batting gives me an edge over Sharma, whom i feel is a bit overhyped.
